The small village with just under 800 inhabitants is picturesquely situated 420m above sea level. The drive to Forza d’Agro alone makes your heart beat faster. The small village is also very popular with the locals. Not only because scenes from the famous film “The Godfather” were filmed here, but also because of the exquisite restaurants that specialize in the preparation of seafood.

The original Sicilian arancini are a must for every visitor. In almost all bars, these are freshly prepared in the afternoon. Mostly round or cone-shaped fried rice balls coated in a delicious breading and filled with tomato sauce, meat and mozzarella. There are also delicious alternatives for the vegetarians among us.

Granita is a typical Sicilian fresh breakfast available in every bar and is especially popular in summer. It resembles a sorbet and is available in different flavors. Lemon, coffee with or without cream, strawberry, etc. It is served with a “brioche”, a pastry similar to a milk roll.

The Sicilians like to eat pasticcini as a dessert, whether after lunch or dinner.
Typical pasticcini are the “cannoli siciliani” filled with a delicious cream.
