Letojanni - a word with many meanings - a place with many faces.
The name Letojanni is derived from Latin and Arabic. The word “laetus” means “happy” and “yan” means “source”.
Letojanni was once a small fishing village with no more than 500 inhabitants. Over time, the wonderful beauty of this small town with its crystal-clear waters of the Ionian Sea and the breathtaking landscape with its beautiful beaches was recognized more and more and it grew into a wonderful, cosy tourist town. This is wonderfully centrally located between Messina and Catania. Just a few kilometers from Taormina and Isola Bella with many other breathtaking sights.
A day trip to the active volcano Etna is easily possible, as it only takes about 45 minutes. from Letojanni and is definitely worth a visit.

Church of San Giuseppe - Piazza Durante

Piazza Francesco Durante is located in the city center, opposite the church of San Giuseppe. The numerous bars in the town provide refreshment. From the piazza you also have access to Palazzo Durante, where there are many details to discover.
Museo d'Arte e Cultura Siciliana
The Museum of Sicilian Art and Culture is located in the Palazzo della Cultura and houses not only typical Sicilian antiquities but also sacred images and ancient tools that were once developed by the surgeon Francesco Durante himself and are still used in surgery today.
The beach
The beautiful beach at Letojanni offers crystal-clear blue water and plenty of space for sunbathing. Those who prefer more comfort can make use of a private lido for a fee. There is also a beach ball court for the more sporty among us.
